A Very Special Post From The Girl in the Cat Frame Glasses
Professor Boyfriend has broken my heart.
Last night, whilst taking care of me in my sickly state and watching an episode of Doctor Who, he proceeded to claim on Facebook that it was “the worst.” A debate ensued between Whovians and, you know, the others (see: non Whovians).
Luckily, he has agreed to another viewing. I have some episodes in mind already, but what would YOU suggest?
j
I have to agree with Professor Elbow Patches on this one. Sorry.
Et tu, Calahan?
I haven’t watched the new episodes, but the ones with the Dr. Who w/the white afro were so hard to watch. Sorry, Jenn.
Waitaminute—was he saying that just a particular episode of Doctor Who was the worst, or that the show itself was the worst? If it’s the latter, he obviously has no business teaching people, because he knows nothing.
A particular episode. if he feels the same after…….there might be a tussle.
Which episode was it?
Runaway Bride.
My son would love you, because he’s recently become a big Dr. Who fan. I don’t watch the show myself, but believe me, I hear ALL about it.
Hahaha!!!
Depends on what he’s interested in. I love the Vincent Van Gogh ep, but also Blink and the two-fer Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead. Both episodes with Craig (The Lodger and Closing Time) are rewatches for me.
Jeez, I could list so many. I also think the 1st ep of Matt Smith is a good intro to the series.
Episodes that stick out in my mind are ‘Girl in the Fireplace’, ‘Planet of the Ood’, ‘Blink’, ‘Father’s Day’, the one with Shakespeare, the one with Queen Victoria, any episodes with River Song, any episodes with the Daleks, the one with Van Gogh, the ones with the Master, the Churchill one, the one where they meet Captain Jack…
You know what, just get him to start at the beginning of the Christopher Eccleston series from 2005 and watch them all through. He needs to learn.
You are absolutely right! One does not simply start watching Doctor Who episodes here and there. YOU HAVE TO WATCH THEM ALL TO GET THE STORY. I may have to bribe him.
